Everybody wants the best possible website for their business.

I’ve seen some websites built in Wix that serve their base purpose of informing but will struggle significantly with Google searches. I’ve also seen an attractive, well-functioning website with commerce created quickly using GoDaddy’s builder.

I prefer WordPress for website development.

WordPress is free and open source which means that developers will continue improving it, the price will never increase, and it won’t become obsolete. With WordPress, the functionality is flexible, so you can start with a small website and then make it as big or complicated as you want to. This functionality comes from plug-ins (programs for WordPress). There are over 50,000 plug-ins out there for WordPress.

Security is a concern on the web, and hackers are constantly looking for ways to take your site down. There are simple yet effective ways to keep your WP site safe with security plug-ins.

Do you want a gorgeous website? There are endless design options out there in the form of themes. I preference the Divi theme, but there are many options out there.

The SEO functionality is the real reason I prefer WordPress.

If nobody finds your site, it doesn’t matter how great it looks or what it does. WordPress is a content management system (CMS), meaning that the authors can easily add meta tags which is critical in getting to the top of the search list. You can also edit your keyword focus phrase and add more than one keyword. Image tagging is easy and can be a way to get some bonus keywords listed. Can you see my H1 and H2 tags here?

Blogging is another excellent way to get to the top of search results. WordPress makes blogging straightforward and functional. Please send me a message with any questions or comments about this article. Thanks for reading.
